Cincinnati Museum Center Presents: Treasures in Black & White

Look through the photographer’s lens and revisit images that document Cincinnati’s neighborhoods, architecture and people from from the outbreak of the Civil war to the 1960s. Tracing a century in the life of the Queen City (1860-1960), Treasures in Black & White includes images of WWI, WWII and the flood of 1937.
The exhibit features 60 large-format prints of the best black and white historical photographs from Museum Center’s collections, and is based on the 2006 book, Historical Photos of Cincinnati by Cincinnati Museum Center and Turner Publishing Company.
In addition to fascinating snapshots, Treasures showcases historical artifacts, archival materials and other visual media from Museum Center’s collections that provide context and bring the images to life.
Treasures in Black & White is open April 25- Oct.12 and is Museum Center’s contribution to Cincinnati Remembers WWI, Cincinnati Opera’s citywide series of events commemorating the centenary of the First World War.
