The new FotoFocus Film Curator at Large, C. Jacqueline Wood will spearhead a new free monthly film series presented by FotoFocus across Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky every second Tuesday in 2020 titled SECOND SCREENS, which will celebrate the non-profit organization’s tenth anniversary and expand its mission of promoting lens-based art to fully encompass film, video, and the moving image.

FotoFocus is pleased to announce it has appointed Cincinnati-based film specialist and artist C. Jacqueline Wood as FotoFocus Film Curator at Large. FotoFocus had a tremendously exciting and successful year in presenting and supporting the region’s finest in lens-based art. As 2019 draws to a close, we want to share highlights from this past year and kick-off the celebration of our 10-year anniversary in 2020. The FotoFocus Symposium, AutoUpdate: Photography in the Electronic Age brought together a rich diversity of speakers to address digital technology’s impact on photography and video, and its disruption of art making and news cycles in a media obsessed world. This series of lectures and panel discussions included international artists and speakers addressing photography’s part in the current global crisis of information exchange; the fate of documentary filmmaking in a “post-truth” age; and a historical and philosophical assessment of digital imaging, past and future.
